Intertwining: Dao de Jing – the Classic Chinese Text by Lao Zi
Dao de Jing, the classic Chinese text also known as Tao te Ching, can be seen as expressing an introverted view of nature and life. The Introvert Book Club post for March 2023.
Last year, when I informed an online travel forum about an Internet UpThink post inspired by a comment from European travel guru Rick Steves, a forum participant got very worked up about the extrovert/introvert distinction. He argued that it made no sense as a binary concept. I agreed with him, pointing out that if we think of extrovert/introvert as a continuum instead of an either/or framework, we’re allowing for people at the ends of the scale and everywhere else in between, including smack in the middle. In today’s post, though, I’m exploring a different paradigm.
