Wow I feel so connected to the waitress story. I was also, if I do say so myself, an awesome waitress/bartender. It did always feel like acting but it was satisfying because it got the kinds of reactions that I didn't usually get in my day to day life. Approval. People fawned over me, even though that wasn't me. Really making me realize how I thought that was a good thing but also fed into my masking in my real life.
